OFGEM has published its latest Feed in Tariff (FiT) rates for all eligible Solar Photovoltaic Panel (PV) installations registered since the scheme was launched in April 2010. The new rates will come into affect from 1 April 2015. Early entrants to the market who installed systems <4kW will now be receiving just over 50p per kWh generated when the export tariff is included.

The rate table also includes the FiT rate for new PV installations registered from 1 April 2015 (Year 6). The new rates show a reduction in FiT rates across system sizes up to 10kW and for systems larger than 50kW, with only the tariff on installations sized between 10kW and 50kW remaining unchanged.

The reduction in selected tariffs reflects the higher rates of deployment that took place in the final quarter of 2014 triggering the tariff reduction. This will undoubtedly create a increase in demand during the last quarter of year 5.

As reported in previous blogs, those that installed before 31 December 2014 will receive a small 1.6% uplift in their FiT rate from 1 April 2015; and those that install in the first quarter of 2015 will not see a lift in their tariff rate until April 2016.
